At Gate 36, we believe that great food starts long before it reaches your table.

Whenever possible, we choose to support local farms, producers, and Kansas businesses because we believe the best communities are built when neighbors support one another. Every local partnership strengthens the people, families, and businesses that make our community unique.

Coffee With Purpose

At Gate 36, we believe the details matter—including what goes into your morning cup. That is why we are proud to serve Joylight Coffee Roasters, a family-owned, local roasting company right here in Topeka.

Joylight’s name was inspired by Psalm 30:5: “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” We love not only the meaning behind their name, but also the care behind their coffee. Their beans are thoughtfully sourced with a commitment to treating coffee growers with dignity, respect, and fair compensation—including the growers and communities they support in Guatemala.

At Gate 36, we brew Joylight’s signature Luminary Blend, a smooth, medium-roast coffee with notes of chocolate, oatmeal, raisins, and berries. It is an exceptional local product made by people who care deeply about both quality and purpose.
